Playboy Philippines launched its newest issue featuring Pinoy Big Brother alumnus Cassandra Ponti as its newest cover girl at Kabalen, Quezon Avenue recently.
Just a new ‘gladiator’ if based on its entry date into the publications arena (April 2008), Playboy Philippines already showed good promise despite the ominous presence of much earlier-released publication giant FHM and a gaggle of similar magazines on its heels.
But it is the surprise of knowing that Playboy International is giving its full support to the Philippines version that makes this publication special.
Much of the support will come from Playboy International itself based in the US according to the Playboy Philippines editorial team which includes if not limited to:
1. Promotions of the magazine which might possibly entail the visit and/or promo tour of Playboy International’s foreign-based cover girls here in the Philippines and vice-versa.
2. The chance of our very own Playboy Philippines cover girls making it in the issue of Playboy International.
3. Screening of Playboy Philippines by Playboy International regarding contents and its cover models.
4. The chance of one or more of our cover models visiting the Playboy mansion, or a promo which might give a rare opportunity for an avid reader to visit the mansion and meet its famous bunnies and the ‘HEF’ himself.
These are just some of the perks that are given to the Philippine counterpart of the famous men’s magazine which began 55 years ago by Hugh Hefner branching out into other versions worldwide henceforth.
Fast-forward to 2008, Playboy’s newest incarnation in the Philippines featuring Cassandra Ponti graces the newest issue with shots reminiscent of a James Bond Ursula Andress (Dr. No)… but much bolder.
Cass is also proud to boast that no ‘Photoshop’ fix was done on any of her shots mainly because it is Playboy’s main agenda to rely on the natural aesthetic value of its cover girls.
